Nutella Hot Chocolate

Nutella Hot Chocolate

This week is going to be recipes that all would be perfect for breakfast on Christmas morning.  I always enjoy a yummy hot drink and Christmas morning.  Last year I shared a delicious hot cocoa recipe and ideas for a hot cocoa bar.  This year I found a great twist on the normal hot chocolate, it’s hot chocolate made with nutella.  Let me just say that it is OHHHHHHHHH SOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOD.  I adapted it from a recipe I found through Tastespotting at Babble.  This hot chocolate is so rich and creamy with that great chocolate/hazelnutflavor from the nutella.  This is my new addiction.
Be sure to enter the giveaway I have starting today on my giveaway page.  It will help some one out during this busy holiday time.

  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup Nutella
  • mini marshmallows or whipped cream
In a medium sauce pan over medium-low heat, whisk together milk and Nutella until the Nutella is melted and milk gets nice and warm. Serve in mugs and top with marshmallows or whipped cream. Makes 4 servings.
This can be made ahead of time, cooled, and stored in the fridge.  Reheated on the stove or microwave in individual mugs.  If microwaving, reheat each cup for about 1 minute.

Cinnamon Sugar Donuts, Yum!! (From a Little Bit Funky)

Talk about melt in your mouth amazing and buttery and oh so sweet, sweet, heavenly goodness.
They ARE GOOD.
Want to make some?
You need canned biscuits (anything BUT the flakey layer kind).
Melted butter in a shallow bowl(4 tbls per 8 biscuits give or take)
Sugar & Cinnamon in a shallow bowl.
Mixed together in your favorite proportions...I like a nice medium brown mixture.

Veggie oil to fill your pan up to about 1/2in or so. (I used Olive Oil)
Heat up oil for a few minutes on medium heat.
While it is heating up, cut holes in the donuts with a cookie cutter or some other circular object.
When one side is golden brown, flip with tongs.  When that side is golden remove from oil and place on a paper towel lined pan or plate.
When the donuts have cooled enough to handle...using your fingers dip one side in the melted butter, let the excess drip off, dip in cinnamon and sugar mixture.  Get it nice and coated.  Flip over and repeat for the other side.

Done!!

7-Up Biscuits

What?  Yep, that's right, 7up biscuits. These were the best biscuits that I've ever made - hands down!  They were light and fluffy.  They only have three ingredients - quick and easy! Drew loved them!!

7up Biscuits
2 cups Bisquick
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup 7-up
1/4 cup melted butter

Preheat oven to 450.
Cut sour cream into biscuit mix, add 7-Up. Makes a very soft dough.
Sprinkle additional biscuit mix on board or table and pat dough out. Melt 1/4 cup butter in a 9 inch square pan.  Place cut biscuits in pan and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
